NFL Football: Sunday

The Line: San Diego Chargers -4 -- Over/Under: 45 See the Latest Odds

The Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers play Sunday afternoon at Qualcomm Stadium.

The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a bye week and hope to keep some of their momentum going. The Chiefs have to get Alex Smith going, as he’s completing 63.3 percent of his passes for eight touchdowns and four interceptions. The Chiefs are 8-3 SU in their last 11 regular season games when Smith throws two or more touchdowns. Travis Kelce leads Kansas City with 274 receiving yards and three touchdowns and Dwayne Bowe has yet to score a touchdown. The Kansas City Chiefs ground game has been its bread and butter offensively, as Jamaal Charles and Knile Davis have combined for more than 500 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Charles has rushed for 172 yards in his last two games and needs to remain healthy for Kansas City’s offense to be productive. Defensively, the Kansas City Chiefs allow 20.2 points, 341.8 yards, and they’ve forced three turnovers and 15 sacks. Josh Mauga leads the Chiefs with 36 tackles and Justin Houston has six sacks.

Kansas City Chiefs at San Diego Chargers - 10/19/14 NFL Pick, Odds, Prediction

The San Diego Chargers have won five straight games and look to remain unbeaten at home. The Chargers defense has shown to be one of the better units in the league, allowing 15.2 points, 308.3 yards, and they’ve forced 12 sacks and nine turnovers. The Chargers have won eight of their last nine regular season games when allowing 24 or less points. Donald Butler leads the Chargers with 36 tackles and Brandon Flowers has seven pass deflections. Offensively, Philip Rivers is completing 69.3 percent of his passes for 15 touchdowns and two interceptions. The Chargers have won nine straight games when Rivers throws two or more touchdowns. Malcom Floyd and Eddie Royal have combined for close to 700 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Running back Branden Oliver has scored three touchdowns in his last two games.

The Chiefs are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 road games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games in October. The Chargers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall.

The Chargers are one of the better teams in the NFL and the Chiefs don't have enough offensive firepower to compete. Give me San Diego by a touchdown.
