The Washington Redskins and the Tennessee Titans face off on Sunday at FedEx Field for an NFL Football matchup.
The Washington Redskins have lost their last four games and they sit in last place in the NFC East. The Redskins offense is averaging just 22 points per game despite averaging 395.8 yards per game that is seventh ranked in the NFL. Kirk Cousins as completed 61.7 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions and while he has looked sharp at times, he has hardly looked like a sure thing replacement for RG 3 when he is ready to return. Alfred Morris is averaging 4.0 yards per carry with three touchdowns and Roy Helu has done a nice job backing him up especially catching passes and Helu has 17 receptions. Pierre Garcon has 30 receptions while DeSean Jackson has been the deep threat with 23 caches with three of them going for touchdowns. The Redskins are minus nine in turnover ratio and are allowing 27.7 points per game despite allowing just 336.2 yards per game that is 10thbest in the NFL. Keenan Robinson has 44 tackles, Ryan Clark has 38 tackles, Ryan Kerrigan has 6.5 sacks. It’s clear that Washington’s struggles with turnovers has been their undoing.

The Tennessee Titans are coming off of a win that raised their record to 2-4 for the season. The Titans offense has been rough averaging a 28th ranked 17.3 points per game and 334.3 yards. QB Jake Locker has been out with a hand injury and if he is still unable to go it will be Charlie Whitehurst who was under center in the Titans lineup last week. Bishop Sankey leads the Titans in rushing with a 4.2 yards per carry average while Shonn Greene is averaging 4.3 yards per carry. Tight end Delanie Walker is Tennessee’s leading receiver with 29 catches and Kendall Wright has 26. Defensively the Titans are allowing 25.5 points per game and 375 yards with Michael Griffin as the leading tackler with 40, Wesley Woodyard with 36, and Jason McCourty with 35. Tennessee is plus two in turnovers but they appear to have plenty of holes.
Washington is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven home games, 1-4 against the spread following a loss, and 4-10 against the spread in their last 14 games. Tennessee is 1-4-1 against the spread in their last six road games, 1-8-2 against the spread in their last 11 games, and 0-4-2 against the spread against a team with a losing record. The underdog has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.
These teams make plenty of mistakes and I look for the defenses to win the day and my free pick is on the under. My stronger play is on who will cover the point spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
