The Buffalo Bills and New York Jets play Sunday in an AFC East clash at MetLife Stadium.
The Buffalo Bills are coming off a thrilling last-second win over the Minnesota Vikings and are still hanging around in the division, but the win came with a price. Both running backs C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson are out indefinitely with injuries. Anthony Dixon will now have to carry the load for Buffalo and make up for two backs who helped the Bills average 4.1 yards per carry. Kyle Orton is completing 68.5 percent of his passes for five touchdowns and three interceptions. Orton is becoming a bigger part of the offense and has thrown for two touchdowns in each of his last two games. One player who is really coming into his own is rookie wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who leads the Bills with 433 receiving yards and is coming off his first two-touchdown performance. The Bills have 26 passing plays of 20 or more yards and Robert Woods has caught 11 of his 25 passes in his last two games. Defensively, the Buffalo Bills are allowing 20.3 points, 328 yards, and they’ve forced 12 turnovers and 24 sacks. Preston Brown leads the Bills with 51 tackles and Marcell Dareus has seven sacks.

The New York Jets have lost six straight games and the pressure continues to build for head coach Rex Ryan. Geno Smith is completing only 57.3 percent of his passes for seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Jets have the 31st worst passing offense in the league and have produced just 15 passing plays of 20 or more yards. The good news is that the Jets made a trade with the Seattle Seahawks for Percy Harvin, who should bring some explosiveness to the offense. Harvin will join Eric Decker on the outside, a player who has scored in two of his last three games. The one positive for the Jets is its running game that’s averaging 4.7 yards, as Chris Ivory has 432 rushing yards on just 88 carries. Defensively, the New York Jets allow 26.4 points, 326.6 yards, and they’ve forced three turnovers and 20 sacks. Dawan Landry leads the Jets with 59 tackles and Muhammad Wilkerson has four sacks.
The Bills are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Jets are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. AFC East and 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The home team is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings.
I know the Jets continue to play hard and should have a much needed spark with the addition of Harvin. But the Bills are a team that's fighting every week as well and actually getting results. Give me the better team and the points.
