The New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs meet Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
The New York Jets have lost seven straight games and are looking for their first road win since last year’s season finale. The Jets are starting Michael Vick in this game after Geno Smith racked up seven touchdown passes and 10 interceptions. In 56 pass attempts, Vick is completing 46.4 percent four zero touchdowns and one interception. However, Vick’s experience and playmaking ability should give the Jets offense more of a fighting chance here. Eric Decker and Jace Amaro have combined for 63 of the Jets 157 receptions and four of the seven touchdowns. Percy Harvin caught three passes for 22 yards in his Jets debut. Even with the change at quarterback, the Jets are likely to rely on their running game that’s averaging a solid 4.7 yards per carry. Chris Ivory has scored three touchdowns in his last two games, while Chris Johnson has picked up just 19 carries in his last three. Defensively, the New York Jets are allowing 28.5 points, 320.8 yards, and they’ve forced 24 sacks and three turnovers. Dawan Landry leads the Jets with 38 solo tackles and Muhammad Wilkerson has seven tackles for loss.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been able to put a slow start behind them by winning four of their last five games. The Chiefs are getting the job done with a ground game that’s averaging 4.5 yards per carry. Knile Davis and Jamaal Charles have racked up 764 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, as the Chiefs have six rushing plays of 20 or more yards. Davis has put the Chiefs on his back lately, which includes a special teams touchdown last week. This has taken a lot of pressure off of Alex Smith, who is completing 66.8 percent of his passes for nine touchdowns and four interceptions. Smith is dealing with a shoulder injury, but he remains probable for this matchup. The Chiefs have 17 passing plays of 20 or more yards, and Travis Kelce and Dwayne Bowe have produced 10 of them along with three touchdowns. Defensively, the Kansas City Chiefs are allowing 18.3 points, 308.6 yards, and they’ve forced 24 sacks and five turnovers. Josh Mauga leads the Chiefs with 47 tackles and Justin Houston has 10 sacks.
The Jets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in Week 9 and 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Chiefs are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Jets are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
The free 10 points for the Jets is tempting, but I'm looking at the way both teams play defense and like the under in this matchup. This looks like it's going to be an ugly game and points are going to be hard to come by. The Jets have done nothing offensively, but they do have the defense to slow down Kansas City's rushing attack. Give me the under in this sloppy matchup.
