NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 11 Schedule and More
November 12, 2014
We’ve got just one more day to wait before “Thursday Night Football” kicks off Week 11 in the NFL with an AFC East matchup between the Bills and Dolphins. In the meantime, we’ve got a little space to check out some of the notable players and storylines happening around the league. Here’s the latest.
Bad news for the Seahawks this morning. Yesterday, word broke that starting NT Brandon Mebane had sustained a torn hamstring and will be out for the remainder of the season. Mebane hurt himself in Week 10 against the Giants.

The Niners are in a similar boat with injury news today. LB Patrick Willis will reportedly have to undergo season-ending surgery on his toe. He was hurt in Week 6 and hasn’t been able to take the field since then.
Something to watch this week: Patriots WR Brandon LaFell wasn’t out on the practice field yesterday, and the team is remaining mum about the situation, as per usual.
If LaFell has sustained some sort of injury, it’ll be a real blow to the Pats offense heading into a big-time game against the Colts this weekend. He’s posted five touchdowns in his last six appearances.
Both Sammy Watkins and Fred Jackson are looking good for tomorrow’s game against the Dolphins. They were both able to practice yesterday.
Both players are dealing with groin injuries, and though Watkins participated fully in yesterday’s session, Jackson was limited.
The Steelers don’t play until Monday night against the Titans, but they’ve already ruled out a trio of players. Troy Polamalu, Ryan Shazier and Ike Taylor will all be sidelined for Week 11. Polamalu and Shazier have knee injuries, while Taylor has an injured forearm.
The Cowboys’ Tyler Pamon will be missing some time with a sprained MCL. He’s going to be out for about 2-4 weeks while he heals. He was injured on Sunday against the Jaguars in London.
In other news, Dallas reinstated suspended LB Josh Brent, cutting Tim Dobbins to make room on the roster.
