NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 12 Schedule and More

We’ve completed the short turnaround between Week 11 and Week 12 in the NFL, and the Chiefs-Raiders game will be kicking off in a matter of hours. In the meantime, let’s take our daily look around the league and check out some of the notable happenings out there making headlines.

If you’re a Bengals fan, don’t count on seeing too much of Giovani Bernard this weekend against Houston. The Cincinnati coaching staff has indicated that they’re going to ease him back into action, since he’s just now returning from hip/shoulder issues that caused him to miss three straight games.
In Bernard’s absence, backup RB Jeremy Hill has stepped up to the plate, with a pair of 150-yard rushing games to his credit. We’d imagine there will be more of a timeshare here once Bernard is back on the field (and most indications seem to be that he’ll be making his comeback Sunday; he was able to return to practice yesterday and looked good).

The Lions’ Reggie Bush was able to practice yesterday. He’s missed three of the team’s last five games due to his ankle injury.
No word yet on whether or not Bush will be good to go for Sunday against the Patriots, but this is a good start.

The Browns’ Josh Gordon looked good in practice yesterday, preparing for what’s going to be the league’s most anticipated debut of the year.
Gordon has been suspended all of this season so far, but he’s eligible to come back this week against Atlanta. The Browns coaching staff has said they’re going to be easing him into the lineup, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see a strong debut from the league’s most dynamic pass-catcher.

The Colts’ Trent Richardson isn’t getting off to a very good start with his new heavy workload. He missed out on practice yesterday due to an illness, but the good news is there’s no indication it’s anything serious.
Richardson will be forced to step his game up after the team lost Ahmad Bradshaw for the season due to a broken ankle this past week. We’ll see if he’s able to fill in the hole.

The Broncos’ Julius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders were present at practice yesterday, but weren’t able to participate with the team. Thomas has an ankle injury and Sanders is dealing with a concussion.
