NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 12 Schedule and More
November 21, 2014
Now that the Chiefs and Raiders have finished up, it’s time to start looking forward to the rest of the games on the NFL’s Week 12 schedule. Before we get things rolling again, we’ve got a couple of days to wait, so let’s fill in the time by taking our daily look around the league at some of the notable news items out there.
TNF Wrap-Up: It had been a long 368 days since the Raiders had won a game, and they were able to achieve that unfamiliar feeling once again with a victory over the Chiefs. Latavius Murray was the star of the show (and later left with a concussion), racking up 112 yards and two scores on just four carries, the biggest being a 90-yard TD scamper. The result was a 24-17 victory for Oakland.
Rookie QB Derek Carr posted 174 yards and a TD on a very careful performance, and KC’s offense simply couldn’t get going for most of the night. The Chiefs will play the Broncos in a huge matchup Week 13.

We’ve got a few injury updates this morning on the Saints, so let’s check those out. First off, RB Pierre Thomas was able to return to practice on a limited basis yesterday. He’s been out the last four games due to shoulder and rib injuries. That’s the good news.
Unfortunately for the Saints, both Travaris Cadet (hamstring) and Khiry Robinson (forearm) were out of action yesterday. They’re both in danger of missing out on Monday’s game against Baltimore.
The Bengals’ Giovani Bernard was able to put in a full day of practice yesterday, which increases his odds of being able to return to the field on Sunday against the Texans.
Bernard has been on the shelf for the last three games due to issues with his hip and clavicle. In the meantime, Jeremy Hill has filled in nicely. Look for a timeshare situation when both are on the field.
The Vikings’ Greg Jennings was out of action yesterday, missing his second consecutive practice with a rib injury. That doesn’t bode well for his availability for the Packers game on Sunday.
The Lions’ Calvin Johnson and Joique Bell, who are both suffering from ankle injuries, were back out on the practice field yesterday after missing Wednesday’s session.
Detroit will need both of those guys healthy if they want to beat the Patriots in a very important game on Sunday.
Julio Jones hasn’t practiced for two straight days due to an illness, but the team fully expects he’ll be good to go in today’s session. Atlanta will host Cleveland this weekend.
Week 12 NFL Schedule: It’s time to start looking forward to Week 12 in the NFL. Here’s a look at the complete schedule, along with the start times and TV networks you can catch the games on.
