The Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals face off on Sunday in Seattle in a monster Week 12 NFC West NFL battle.
The Seattle Seahawks haven’t had an easy road this season getting everyone’s A-Game as the defensing Super Bowl Champions but as we enter Week 12 they are very much part of the big picture. The Seahawks had won three games in a row but that streak came to an end last Sunday losing in Seattle. The Seahawks offense ranks 10th in points per game at 26 and 11th in yards per game at 366 but I hasn’t led to consistent wins. Russell Wilson has completed 62.5 percent of his passes with 13 touchdowns and five interceptions and he has rushed for 571 yards. Marshawn Lynch is getting stronger as the season goes on and he has 813 yards and nine touchdowns and Doug Baldwin leads the receivers with 44 receptions. The Seahawks defense allows 21.5 points per game which ranks 12th and they are third in the NFL allowing 306.1 yards per game. K.J. Wright has 75 tackles, Earl Thomas has 62 tackles, and Kam Chancellor has 53 tackles. The Seahawks will need to finish strong to make the playoffs this season as things are tight at the top of the NFC.

The Arizona Cardinals quietly have the best record in the NFL and the sit at 9-1 thus far. The Cardinals have had their share of injuries but they continue to overcome them. The Cardinals offense is averaging 23.7 points and 333 yards per game both of which rank in the middle third of all NFL teams. Drew Stanton is in at QB for the injured Carson Palmer and he has completed 53.6 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and two interceptions. Andre Ellington leads the Cardinals ground attack with 624 yards and three touchdowns and 41 receptions and Larry Fitzgerald has 46 receptions to lead the Arizona receivers. The Cardinals defense allows a third best in the NFL 17.6 points per game and a 13th best 343.7 yards per game and they are plus 11 in turnover ratio. Rashad Johnson has 61 tackles, Tony Jefferson has 55 tackles, and Larry Foote has 54 tackles. The Cardinals don’t always make it look pretty but they have been effective and have won their last six games.
Seattle is 15-6 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 19-8 against the spread against the NFC, and 1-5 against the spread in their last six games. Arizona is 7-1 against the spread in their last eight road games, 4-1 against the spread against the NFC West, and 6-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record. The home team has covered the spread in 11 of the last 16 meetings of these two.
I can see Seattle winning this but I see it being close as Arizona is having that magical type of season where plays happen for them that only happen to teams going places. I do see a playoff atmosphere and a close game so getting nearly a touchdown seems like a solid play.
