NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 13 Schedule and More
November 27, 2014
Today’s the day. We’re kicking off Week 13 in style this holiday, with three games on the slate over the course of the next several hours. Before you sit down in front of the TV with a pile of turkey in front of you, let’s check out the latest news heading into today’s matchups.
No real surprise here, but the Texans put QB Ryan Mallett on IR yesterday due to his torn pectoral muscle. Now we know for sure he’ll be out for the remainder of the season.
The team inked Thad Lewis to take his roster spot.

The Browns’ Jordan Cameron is still considered day-to-day with his concussion, according to the coaching staff. If he can continue practicing leading up to the Buffalo game, he’s got a decent chance of playing. There was some speculation that he might have been able to play for the Atlanta game last weekend, so he’s getting close.
Nick Foles headlined the Eagles Week 13 injury report yesterday. He’ll be out for the fourth straight game.
Aside from that, the only person who is below probable for Philly this week is LB Emmanuel Acho, who is questionable.
The Colts’ Dwayne Allen missed out on practice yesterday. The team is considering him day-to-day with his ankle injury. He missed last week against the Redskins with that ailment.
If Allen can’t go, expect another heavy load for Indianapolis’ Coby Fleener, who is their other top tight end.
Both Charles Clay (TE) and Cortland Finnegan (CB) were able to return to practice yesterday for the Dolphins. As long as neither experiences a setback, it’s looking like they’re going to be able to play Monday night against the reeling Jets.
Clay had knee and hamstring injuries that caused him to sit out last week against the Broncos. As for Finnegan, he’s missed a pair of games due to ankle issues.
