NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 13 Schedule and More
November 30, 2014
Week 13 will get started once again in the NFL today, with many of the matchups coming within just a few hours. In the meantime, let’s take a look at some last-minute considerations around the league and see which players are in the news right now. Here’s the latest.
Contrary to some encouraging reports out of Cleveland from as late as Friday, tight end Jordan Cameron will be sidelined once again for the Bills game today.
This will mark Cameron’s fifth straight missed game, thanks to his concussion symptoms. When he first sustained the injury, there was speculation that he would miss quite a bit of time, since this was his third concussion. It’s looking like that’s proving to be the case.

Yesterday, we got some additional information on the status of Philly QB Nick Foles, and the news appears to be encouraging.
Following a CT scan on his injured collarbone, doctors determined that Foles should be able to return to the field in 2-4 weeks. That said, he’s got some competition brewing in backup QB Mark Sanchez, who took the field when Foles went down.
Sanchez has been playing well since he took over the starting job, most recently in a Thanksgiving Day beat-down of the NFC East rival Cowboys. Some are speculating that when Foles is able to return to the lineup, he may not get his starting job back from Sanchez. We’ll have to wait and see how the latter performs over the stretch run of the season.
Let’s check out the injury reports for tomorrow’s AFC East battle between the Jets and the Dolphins on “Monday Night Football.”
We’ll start with the Dolphins. They’ve got two players out: Jonathan Freeny and Jamar Taylor. The doubtful players are Charles Clay, Cortland Finnegan and Nate Garner. Ja’Wuan James is questionable, while Daryn Colledge, Rishard Matthews, Lamar Miller, Samson Satele and Mike Wallace are all probable.
As for the Jets, they’ve got two players out as well: Muhammad Wilkerson and Jace Amaro. Everybody else is probable. That designation includes Michael Vick, Chris Ivory, Bilal Powell, Chris Johnson, John Conner, Oday Aboushi, Nick Mangold, Willie Colon, Eric Decker, Antwan Barnes, David Harris, Sheldon Richardson and Jaiquawn Jarrett.
The Rams activated DE Chris Long yesterday, a move that comes after he was placed on the injured reserve/designated to return list. He’s been out since Week 2 and should be able to take the field today against the Raiders.
