NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 14 Schedule and More
December 4, 2014
Today’s the day when the NFL begins its Week 14 schedule with the Cowboys and Bears kicking things off at Soldier Field. In the meantime, there are plenty of notable news items out there to keep our eyes on, so with that in mind let’s check out some of the trending topics across the league.
The Ravens’ Justin Forsett sat out of practice yesterday, with general soreness being cited as the reason why. The good news is that he says the condition shouldn’t affect him come game-day on Sunday, when the Ravens head down to South Beach to take on the Dolphins.
Forsett is over 1,000 yards rushing on the year and has four touchdowns in just his last three games.

In a related story, the Ravens’ Torrey Smith sat out practice yesterday as well, thanks to a knee injury. His condition is reported to be minor.
Titans QB Zach Mettenberger has been hampered with a shoulder injury, but the coaching staff in Tennessee believes that he’ll be able to play on Sunday when the Titans take on the Giants. For the record, Mettenberger is confident he’ll play as well.
Greg Olsen, TE for the Panthers, sat out yesterday’s practice due to a knee injury. He reportedly has fluid in the joint but there’s no structural damage there.
The Carolina coaching staff maintains Olsen will be fine for this week.
The Cowboys’ Tony Romo is officially probable for tonight’s game in Chicago against the Bears. He was able to practice Monday and Tuesday.
Romo is coming off an awful Thanksgiving Day performance against the Eagles and has a lot of redeeming to do in the eyes of fans.
The Colts’ Julius Thomas has bene out of action for the past two weeks thanks to an ankle injury, but reportedly has been making some very good progress in his recovery.
It seems that Thomas is on track to return to game action this weekend against the Bills.
