The Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans face off on Sunday in Jacksonville in a NFL AFC South battle.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off of their second win of the season as they came from behind to stun the Giants. The Jaguars offense is averaging a 31st ranked 15.5 points per game and 300.2 yards per game and are led by rookie QB Blake Bortles who has completed 62.4 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Denard Robinson leads the Jaguars rushing attack with 552 yards and four touchdowns and Allen Robinson is the Jags top receiver with 48 catches and two touchdowns. The Jaguars defense allows 27.4 points and 383.2 yards per game and they are minus seven turnover ratio. Johnathan Cyprien has 82 tackles, Josh Evans has 67 tackles, and Telvin Smith has 63 tackles. The Jaguars look like they will be drafting high again this year.

The Houston Texans are 6-6 and while they have a lot of teams they would have to leap they are still in the running for a playoff spot. The Texans offense is averaging 23.9 points and 354.1 yards per game and once again it is Ryan Fitzpatrick back at QB with Ryan Mallett out for the year. Fitzpatrick has completed 63.1 percent of his passes with 17 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Arian Foster leads the Texans with 901 yards rushing and seven touchdowns and Andre Johnson has 65 receptions while DeAndre Hopkins has 60 receptions and six touchdowns. The Houston defense allows 20.6 points and 382.2 yards per game and they are plus 11 in turnover ratio. J.J. Watt has 54 tackles with 11.5 of those being sacks, Kendrick Lewis has 71 tackles, and Brian Cushing has 65 tackles. The Texans have overcome a lot with the turnovers by the defense but the QB play has held them back.
Jacksonville is 3-7 against the spread following a game that they covered the spread, 1-3-1 against the spread against the AFC South, and 2-7-2 against the spread against the AFC. Houston is 4-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record,3-7 against the spread against the AFC South, and 2-9 against the spread following a win. The road team is 4-1-1 against the spread in the last six meetings of these two.
The offenses leave plenty to be desired so my free pick is the under. I also have a strong play on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
