NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 15 Schedule and More
December 14, 2014
Today’s the day. The NFL will resume its Week 15 schedule in the coming hours, and with all the key playoff races occurring around the league, it’ll be interesting to see how things play out. In the meantime, let’s check out a few of the notable happenings out there right now.
SNF Preview: Tonight’s edition of “Sunday Night Football” is going to be a good one, so make sure you’re tuning in. The Cowboys are set to go into Philadelphia to take on their division rival Eagles, and the winner of this game will take sole control of the NFC East.
Dallas has lost the last two games against the Eagles, including a November 27th beat-down to the tune of 33-7. QB Tony Romo in particular doesn’t have a very good history of playing in Philadelphia, so he’ll have to buck the trend and step up big here if the Cowboys want to get into that top slot. The good news is that Romo has had a few extra days to rest his ailing back, so he should enter the game relatively healthy.

We learned yesterday that the Jets’ Muhammad Wilkerson will be out for today’s game against the Titans in Tennessee. He didn’t travel with the team.
If you’re a Jets fan, this is probably good news for you, as this game will go a long way in determining draft status for 2015 and Wilkerson is a big part of what the Jets do on defense.
The Bears have a couple of key guys in danger of sitting out tomorrow’s game against the Saints. Kicker Robbie Gould was able to practice on a limited basis yesterday and earned a questionable designation. He’s dealing with an injured right quad. Jay Feely will kick if Gould can’t go.
Also, safety Chris Conte is doubtful.
The Broncos placed RB Montee Ball on season-ending injured reserve yesterday, bringing to an end an extremely underwhelming season.
Ball suffered a groin injury in Week 4 against the Cardinals, missing six weeks. When he returned he hurt himself again. Ball finishes with just 172 yards.
The Falcons’ Julio Jones will be a game-time decision today, as expected. He’s fighting off a hip injury.
Jones has made some progress since injuring himself last week, but we’ll have to wait and see if he can take the field against the Steelers.
