The Miami Dolphins are a game over .500 and they are watching their playoff hopes slip away. The Dolphins offense is averaging 24.2 points and 333.6 yards per game led by QB Ryan Tannehill who has completed 66.7 percent f his passes with 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Lamar Miller leads Miami in rushing with 782 yards and six touchdowns and Jarvis Landry has 63 catches and five touchdowns and Mike Wallace has 57 catches and seven touchdowns. The Dolphins defense allows a seventh best in the NFL 20 points per game and a sixth best 326.8 yards and they are plus four in turnovers. Jelani Jenkins has 99 tackles, Rashad Jones has 62 tackles, and Cameron Wake has 9.5 sacks. The Dolphins need this one or it will be nearly impossible for them to make the playoffs.
New England is 5-1 against the spread in their last six games, 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games, and 7-0 against the spread at home against a team with a winning road record. Miami is 5-2 against the spread against the AFC, 5-2 against the spread following a loss of 14 points or more, and 30-12 against the spread in their last 42 road games against a team with a winning home record. The home team has covered the point spread in the last five meetings of these two.
Normally I would think the Dolphins stand up here but instead this is clearly a very bad spot for them and I look for the Patriots to pour it on.
