Tonight we’ll be getting back to business in the NFL, with the kickoff of “Thursday Night Football” between the Jaguars and Titans. (The game won’t be much to look at, but it’s very important when it comes to draft position.) Let’s check out some of the notable headlines in our daily wrap-up.

The Falcons are having some major issues with injury at the wide receiver position this week. All three of their top receivers--Julio Jones, Roddy White and Harry Douglas--were held out of practice yesterday.
Jones has a hip injury; White is dealing with an ankle issue and Douglas has an injured foot. The good news is that Douglas and White are expected to take the field this weekend against the Saints, but we won’t know about Jones until game time.

Eddie Lacy had to sit out of the Packers’ practice session yesterday due to an eye issue. The coaching staff reported the problem as not game-related, so Lacy is expected to be okay for this weekend against Tampa Bay.
Lacy has 1336 total yards and 12 touchdowns so far.

It looks like we’ll know tomorrow what the Panthers’ QB situation is going to look like this weekend. The coaching staff will be making a decision on the starter tomorrow ahead of the Cleveland game on Sunday.
Cam Newton was able to practice in a limited capacity yesterday; he’s trying to come back after injuring himself in a car accident.

Let’s take a quick peek at the Jaguars’ injury report for tonight’s game. DE Andre Branch and LB Khairi Fortt will be out, while Ryan Davis, Roy Miller, Tommy Streeter and Josh Evans are questionable. Chris Clemons and Marqise Lee earned probable designations.

On the other side, Tennessee QB Zach Mettenberger is doubtful, as are Taylor Lewan. Dexter McCluster is out.
The questionable designations include Kendall Wright, Delanie Walker, Byron Stingily, Kamerion Wimbley and Zaviar Gooden.

The Texans’ Andre Johnson was able to get back to the practice field yesterday, which is a good sign in his return from a concussion.

The Panthers’ DeAngelo Williams was able to practice on a limited basis yesterday. He’s missed out on the past two games with a hand injury.
