The Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles face off on Saturday in Washington in a NFC East rivalry NFL matchup.
The Washington Redskins are a disaster this season with personnel issues as well as just a lot of losing. The Redskins offense is averaging a 26th ranked 18.4 points per game and a 12th ranked 358.6 yards per game but there is simply no leader as Robert Griffin III appears to be on his way out but with Colt McCoy’s status at day-to-day, he could be the starter this week. Alfred Morris leads the rushing attack with 948 yards and seven touchdowns and Pierre Garcon is Washington’s leading receiver with 62 receptions. Defensively the Redskins are 27th in the NFL in points allowed per game at 26.4 and 10th in yards allowed per game at 338.9 and they are minus nine in turnover ratio. Keenan Robinson has 99 tackles, Ryan Clark has 81 tackles, and Perry Riley has 72 tackles. The Redskins are just looking for answers and not finding any.

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off of a crushing home loss to the Cowboys on Sunday Night that knocked them out of first place in the NFC East and has them on the outside looking in at the playoffs. The Eagles offense is ranked fourth in points per game at 29.7 and fifth in yards per game at 387.6 and they are led by QB Mark Sanchez who has completed 61.9 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions. LeSean McCoy has run for 1,132 yards and four touchdowns and he has 24 catches out of the backfield while Jeremy Mmaclin leads the Philadelphia receivers with 78 catches and 10 touchdowns. The Eagles defense allows 24.8 points and 371.4 yards per game but what has killed them most is their minus nine turnover ratio. Mychal Kendricks has 67 tackles, Malcolm Jenkins has 66 tackles, and Connor Barwin has 14.5 sacks. The Eagles need to win out and then need help to make the post season.
Washington is 3-7 against the spread against the NFC East, 1-5 against the spread in their last six games, and 0-5 against the spread in last five home games. Philadelphia is 4-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 5-1 against the spread following a loss, and 0-6 against the spread following a double-digit home loss. Philadelphia has covered the point spread in four of their last five games in Washington.
I am expecting a lot of scoring despite the high probability of a lot of turnovers so my free pick here is the over.
