The New York Jets are 3-12 this season and this could be the final game for their Head Coach Rex Ryan who hasn’t been able to deliver a winner. The Jets offense is averaging 16.4 points and 315.5 yards per game and they are led by QB Geno Smith who has completed 58.2 percent of his passes for 10 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Chris Ivory has rushed for 792 yards and six touchdowns to lead the New York ground game and Eric Decker has 64 catches and four touchdowns and is the Jets leading receiver. The Jets defense allows 25.1 points and 323.2 yards per game and are minus 11 in turnover ratio basically being hung out to dry by the offense. David Harris has 115 tackles, Demario Davis has 112 tackles, and Dawan Landry has 101 tackles. The Jets have some quality players on defense but this is a team with a lot of holes.
Miami is 2-5 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 0-4 against the spread in their last four games, and 2-5 against the spread against the AFC East. New York is 4-1 against the spread against the AFC, 3-7-2 against the spread in their last 12 road games, and 2-7-1 against the spread following a game that they covered the spread. The road team has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.
This looks like a big number but Miami spotted the Jets a big lead in the last meeting and came back but look for the Dolphins to dominate here.
