The Cincinnati Bengals battled through injury and inconsistency this season and did enough at the right time to secure a wild card berth in the AFC and now they'll look for an elusive playoff victory over one of the game's best pivots. The Bengals have been riding Jeremy Hill in the back field as the rookie power back has been sensational since taking over the once injured then rendered in effective Gio Bernard and with the Colts having a very leaky run defense this could be a great matchup for the Bengals runners. Unfortunately, the status of AJ Green remains in question as the Bengals' top receiving threat was injured each of the last two weeks and even if he is cleared to play it'll be interesting to see just how effective he can be and if he isn't what sort of adjustments will the Colts be able to make to slow down the run game? Andy Dalton has also been suspect this season especially in prime time, big pressure situations and if the Colts can get after him it could be another one of those stinkers we've grown accustomed to seeing out of him.
The Colts meanwhile continue to move forward in their team's progression by locking up another AFC South title but with the Titans and Jags being what they are the Texans going through a handful of quarterbacks this season it isn't much of a surprise to seem them back in the postseason. Indianapolis will go as far as Andrew Luck will take them and for how good he has been this season he also has had plenty of turnover issues and has laid a few eggs himself including in the Dallas game where they couldn't get anything going on offense and had to rely on Matt Hasselbeck to come in to make things a little more respectable in garbage time. Daniel Herron will be the go to guy on the ground for the Colts and if he can have some success running the ball than Luck will have plenty of time to move the offense and with guys like TY Hilton, Reggie Wayne, and Dwayne Allen catching passes it certainly makes things easier. This is going to be an electric atmosphere in Indy which should give the Colts a boost but I am still hung up on how they have played heading into the postseason and while I think Luck is best player on the field in this one I am not sold on the rest of the blue and white and think that Cincy can not only hang around but possibly get the win on the road.
