The Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks play Saturday night in the divisional playoffs at CenturyLink Field.
The Carolina Panthers are coming off a sloppy playoff win over Arizona and hope to reach their first conference championship since 2005. While Cam Newton is playing with more confidence and better decision making, look for the Panthers to continue relying on their ground game to pull off the upset. DeAngelo Williams averaged four yards per carry and Jonathan Stewart topped 100 rushing yards in the win over the Cardinals. Those two guys will have to have similar success if the Panthers are going to shock the NFL world. Newton will also have to manage the game well. Defensively, the Carolina Panthers have allowed a combined 19 points in their last two games and are looking like the defense we thought we were going to see before the season. Luke Kuechly and Charles Johnson have to be great against the run.

The Seattle Seahawks have won six straight games and hope to take one step closer to another Super Bowl. The Seahawks defense will look to continue leading the charge, as they’ve allowed a combined 19 points in their last three games. Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas will make it extremely difficult for the Panthers subpar offense to move the chains let alone put points on the board. Offensively, the Seahawks will continue to feed Marshawn Lynch the ball 20-plus times and rely on Russell Wilson to make the occasional big play or two to put the final nail in the coffin. Look for rookie Paul Richardson to be the X-factor, as he’s a long receiver who can help stretch the field. The Seattle Seahawks have won 10 of their last 11 games SU, which includes the postseason.
The Panthers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 playoff road games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 playoff games overall. The Seahawks are 36-16-2 ATS in their last 54 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 playoff games. The under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
Are the Carolina Panthers a dangerous team that shouldn't be taken lightly? I think so.. However, the Seattle Seahawks are just a different breed, and the Panthers don't have the offensive firepower to put up points. There's a good chance Carolina will be held to less than 10 points in this game, as I don't see where the offense is going to come from. I hate heavy chalk as you guys know, especially in the playoffs, however, this game looks like it could get really ugly.
