The Green Bay Packers outlasted the Dallas Cowboys last weekend in another playoff game involving controversy, this time coming at the expense of the Cowboys instead of in their favour as a late fourth quarter catch by Dez Bryant that would have set up a sure touchdown was waved off due to contact with the ground. The reversal ultimately spelled the end of the Cowboys' season but nonetheless the Packers did enough to get themselves into a position to win the football game and that they did and now they head into Seattle to take on the defending champions in what should be a spectacular match up. The Packers are stacked offensively led of course by Rodgers, Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson, and Eddie Lacy but they know full well who is on the other side of the ball as Seattle's defense is one of the most intimidating and effective in years and has a chance to go down as one of the best ever if they can win another title. The Packers take to the road in this one and obviously that has been their down fall this season as they were undefeated at home but this is the big time and I think we can expect to see a full blown effort here from the Packers on both sides of the ball.
The Seahawks have been the league's best team in the second half of the season as they silenced their doubters and locked up the number one seed in the NFC and now it comes into play as they get to host the NFC title game instead of having to travel to Lambeau Field. Seattle is one of the most balanced and most complete teams I think I have ever seen as they have play makers at every position on both sides of the ball and it makes you stop and think how this team lost four games this season and they will look to cement their place in history with another trip to the Super Bowl. The Hawks need to be aggressive on defense and we can expect Richard Sherman will be doing his best to shut down half of the field but with the talent and speed of the Packers receivers it'll be a tough task for anybody. However, with Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson leading the offense they have a great shot at keeping the Packers offense off the field and with Rodgers and Co. on the sidelines it'll make it easier for the Seahawks to get a win though you can't sleep on Green Bay's defense either. I think this is going to be a very tight contest that'll come down to the wire and getting a touchdown with Aaron Rodgers despite the game being in Seattle isn't something I'm going to turn down.
