NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Off-Season Schedule and More
February 18, 2015
We’ve had a pretty steady stream of NFL news coming in this week, and with the Scouting Combine in full swing there will be no shortage of headlines in the next several days, either. That said, let’s take our daily look around the league and check out some of the notable players out there.
The Cowboys inked a pair of offensive linemen yesterday, retaining both Ronald Leary and Darrion Weems.
Leary has 31 games under his belt as a Cowboy and Weems is coming off IR last season due to a shoulder issue.

The Chiefs released WR A.J. Jenkins yesterday. He was acquired in a trade from San Francisco.
In 28 games over two years with KC, Jenkins put up 17 grabs for 223 yards. He’s a former first-round pick (2012).
In a similar story, the Chiefs also released WR Donnie Avery yesterday. Avery came to KC after playing in Indianapolis and putting up career numbers in 2012.
In six games last season, he put up just 176 yards on 15 catches.
The Colts’ Ahmad Bradshaw pleaded not guilty to a charge of marijuana possession in court yesterday. The charge stems from a traffic stop in Ohio on February 5.
Bradshaw is set to be a free agent this off-season and is coming off a good but injury-shortened season in 2014. He put up 425 yards and a pair of scores with 300 receiving yards and a half-dozen touchdowns on 38 catches.
Who will the Cowboys be utilizing their franchise tag on this upcoming season? The latest reports seem to indicate the team will use it on WR Dez Bryant.
There had been some speculation that Dallas would franchise RB DeMarco Murray, but if this new report is to be believed the team will be speaking with his representatives this week, which indicates a new contract could be on the horizon.
All things considered, this situation seems to be fluid and could change at any time.
