We’re getting ready to head into the weekend, and the NFL news continues to trickle in. There are plenty of updates to get to in our daily wrap-up this morning, so let’s take a look at some of the notable players and situations out there and see who’s in the news.

Jets fans will have all eyes on new QB Ryan Fitzpatrick as he enters the season. He’s coming back from a broken leg, and will be limited in OTAs. That said, he should be good to go for training camp.
Fitzpatrick joins Geno Smith and Matt Simms on the roster and will likely win the starting job by the time Week 1 arrives.

Speaking of AFC East quarterback situations, the Dolphins met with Seattle QB Tarvaris Jackson yesterday.
Jackson has been in the NFL since 2006, when he started his career out with the Vikings.

Speaking of the Dolphins, they won’t be retaining TE Charles Clay, who will move to the Bills. Buffalo made Clay an offer that Miami would not match, so he’ll ink up on a five-year, $38-million deal with the Bills.
Clay has been in Miami for four years, posting a total of 14 scores and 1,809 yards.

The Chargers added former Saints CB Patrick Robinson on a one-year, $2 million deal yesterday.
Robinson posted nine picks in his five years in New Orleans.

The Bengals are bringing back CB Brandon Ghee. He played in Cincinati from 2010-13.
Ghee is coming off a six-game season with the Titans in 2014.

Former Broncos TE Jacob Tamme has a new home. After three years in Denver, he’ll be heading down to Atlanta to join up with the Falcons.
Tamme posted 34 grabs for 293 yards and three scores in two years getting lost in the shuffle behind Julius Thomas.

One more Bengals item today: the team re-signed DT Devon Still yesterday. He posted 19 tackles in his 12 games last year.
