Position: Running Back
Career Stats: 3,285 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns.
Strengths: Todd Gurley is really a complete running back that can do just about anything you like. Gurley’s rare combination of speed and power makes him a nightmare to bring down and a threat to score anytime the ball is in his hands. Gurley sees the field well, hits the hole hard and has a second gear that allows him to break off long touchdown runs. Gurley is a tough runner who picks up yards after initial contact, but he is also light on his feet to the point he can make defenders miss in the open field. I could really talk about Todd Gurley all day long, as there’s just so much to like. He’s really the complete package at the running back position.
Weaknesses: The only question for me regarding Todd Gurley is the fact he’s coming off a torn ACL and has suffered a few other minor injuries during his career at Georgia. Durability a major question with Gurley, however, it’s just about the only red flag NFL teams have to worry about.
Projection: Assuming he’ll make a full recovery from his injury, Gurley is probably one of the more complete running backs I’ve seen since Adrian Peterson. There’s really not much Gurley can’t do at the running back position and he should be drafted within the first two rounds.
