Position: Wide Receiver
Career Stats: 156 catches, 2,775 receiving yards and 33 touchdowns.
Strengths: DeVante Parker has great hands and concentration, as he has just three drops in his last three seasons with the Cardinals. Parker is one of the better receivers in this class at making plays after the catch. Parker does a fine job of being able to change direction and turn a routine passing play into a long gain or even a touchdown despite not having elite top end speed. DeVante Parker also has a great feel for the game, as he usually always knows where he is on the field and does a great job of keeping his feet inbounds on sideline passes. Parker will be an every-down receiver and can develop quickly into a quality red-zone target.
Weaknesses: DeVante Parker can certainly work on his route running, as he isn’t as sharp as you’d like him to be and can sometimes even be a little sloppy. Parker doesn’t have the ideal size you’d like from a No. 1 receiver, and his smaller frame can really limit him against bigger corners. Parker also broke a bone in his foot last year, which is certainly something NFL teams must consider before drafting.
Projection: I’m not as high on DeVante Parker as others seem to be, as I think there’s a wide gap between him and guys such as Amari Cooper and Kevin White. However, Parker is a solid receiver who will contribute right away and will add a splash to an offense looking for a playmaker on the outside. I see Parker as a second-round pick, but I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if he’s selected earlier.
