NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Off-Season Schedule and More
April 2, 2015
The NFL off-season continues to crawl by, but at least we’ve got the draft to look forward to on April 30. In the meantime, there’s always news to cover, so let’s check out our daily look at the headlines.
Yesterday, word broke that TE Rob Housler had a visit scheduled in Cincinnati. He’s a free agent coming off a four-year stint with the Cardinals.
Housler caught just nine balls last season for 129 yards and will be looking to see an increased offensive role with his new team when he signs.

The Seahawks re-upped a couple of players yesterday. DT Jesse Williams and FB Will Tukuafu will be back with the team.
The Seahawks released Williams back in March, and Tukuafu played in Seattle last year after getting cut by the Niners.
The Browns re-signed CB Sherrick McManis yesterday. He’s on a one-year deal.
McManis is a special teams player and a reserve corner. He put up 10 tackles last year.
Nate Washington has a new home; he’ll be with the Texans next year after signing yesterday.
Washington is going into his 11th NFL season and has also played for the Steelers and Titans. His best year was 2011, when he put up 1,023 yards and seven scores with Tennessee.
Speaking of the aforementioned Steelers, they re-signed DE Clifton Geathers yesterday. The 27-year-old played nine games last year, three coming with the Steelers.
The Bengals re-signed WR Brandon Tate yesterday. He was getting some interest from the Chiefs in recent days but decided to go back to Cincinnati.
Tate posted 17 grabs for 193 yards and one score for the Bengals last year.
Tony Romo restructured his deal yesterday, which will end up saving the Cowboys $13 million in cap space.
Romo says he was also willing to take a pay cut if the team could retain RB DeMarco Murray, but that wasn’t to be, as Murray went to Philly as a free agent.
