School: USC Trojans
USA TODAY Sports
Position: Wide Receiver
Career Stats: 178 receptions, 2,572 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns.
Strengths: Nelson Agholor is a lot like some of the other receivers to recently come out of USC, as he’s not the biggest guy in the world but can make great plays after the catch. Agholor is a solid route runner and his 4.42 time at the NFL combine shows great top end speed to take the top off a defense. Agholor is a smooth athlete who has great separation skills and is shifty once in the open field. Agholor is a natural pass catcher and does a good job of catching the ball away from his body. Nelson Agholor is also one of the hardest working players in this draft and has shown the ability to be a leader. Agholor competes hard on every play and will inspire his teammates to step up.
Weaknesses: While he has no real history of injury issues, you have to be concerned with Nelson Agholor’s size. Agholor will likely spend most of his time in the slot, and his thin frame must be able to hold up. Agholor also has to improve in the blocking department.
Projection: Nelson Agholor was underrated at USC and he’s being slightly underrated in the NFL draft. Agholor is somebody who can add a spark on the offensive side of the ball but also be a playmaker immediately on special teams. I consider Nelson Agholor a real steal in the late second or early third round, as he can help your team in many different ways.
