NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Off-Season Schedule and More
April 9, 2015
It seems like the 2015 NFL season is pretty far off, and it is, but there’s plenty to talk about in the meantime. We’ve got a little while to wait before the draft later this month, so in the meantime let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there in the league.
Joe Barksdale, who is an offensive lineman and most recently played for the Rams (for the past two seasons), will be visiting with the Titans today, according to sources close to the situation.
This will be Barksdale’s first known visit to another team.

Uh-oh. Trouble for the Broncos’ Aqib Talib today. He and his brother are currently under investigation by the Dallas Police Department regarding an aggravated assault that occurred yesterday morning.
The two men were allegedly involved in some kind of altercation that involved the discharge of a firearm. The incident in question occurred at a club.
The Jets are reportedly interested in LB Joe Mays. He played in eight games for Kansas City during 2014 and posted 20 tackles. He’s a seven-year NFL veteran, posting 181 tackles during that span.
While we’re on the subject of the Jets, let’s get to the ever-popular Geno Smith. He reportedly spent two months this off-season training with former MLBer Tom House, focusing on strength, mechanical, nutritional and mental conditioning.
House has worked with such greats as Tom Brady and Drew Brees, but it remains to be seen whether or not the time he put in with Smith will show any improvement in his game.
Word from around the league is that Vikings RB Adrian Peterson will likely have his suspension lifted by the league. This news comes following a meeting he had with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell this week.
Peterson is eligible for reinstatement starting April 15, so we’ll see what happens in the coming days.
