USA TODAY Sports
Position: Tight End
Career Stats: 61 receptions, 986 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.
Strengths: Maxx Williams is one of the faster tight ends in this class and has the straight line speed to stretch the field and make big plays downfield. Williams has terrific hands and does a great job of attacking the football at its highest point. Williams is somebody who makes plays after the catch and always knows where he is at on the field. Williams doesn’t mind lowering his shoulder and fighting for extra yards to move the chains. Williams only played two seasons at Minnesota, so there’s not a lot of wear and tear on his body. Maxx Williams comes from a football family and has developed quite a work ethic. Williams is a leader and extremely competitive who gives it his all on each and every play.
Weaknesses: Maxx Williams could add a little more weight to his frame and become a better blocker. Williams isn’t the best route runner and can struggle at times to create separation.
Projection: Maxx Williams is the best tight end in this draft and should be selected within the first two rounds. Williams is a playmaker at the position and is only going to improve his blocking and overall route running. If your team needs a tight end, spending an early pick on Williams would probably be the best thing you could do.
