2015 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Tre McBride

Height: 6’0”

Weight: 210

Position: Wide Receiver

Career Stats: 196 receptions, 2,653 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns.

Strengths: Tre McBride is one of the quicker receivers in this class and has enough top end speed to take the top off a defense. McBride can play in the outside or the slot. McBride’s playmaking ability allows him to be used on trick plays as well, as he ran the ball from time to time in college. McBride has solid hands, can catch in traffic and does a nice job of plucking the ball out of the air. McBride was a successful return man and will likely play a similar role at the next level. McBride is a competitive player who also plays with a little bit of swagger to his game. Tre McBride has a strong work ethic and is always looking for ways to get better. McBride has zero off-the-field issues.

Weaknesses: Tre McBride has a lot of work to do in his route running, as he loses some speed in and out of his cuts. McBride struggles to create separation despite above-average acceleration. McBride also didn’t play the best competition in the world, which usually always raises questions with coaches and teams.

Projection: Tre McBride is simply a playmaker who could be a steal in the middle rounds due to him not having that big name that others have. McBride will certainly add a spark to an offense and would be a successful return man. I’d be comfortable to select McBride as early as round three or four.
