NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Off-Season Schedule and More
May 12, 2015
We’re cruising through another week in the NFL off-season, and the news from around the league continues to trickle in. That said, let’s check out some of the headlines out there and see which players are in the news today.
The Ravens’ first-round pick has officially signed with the team. The news broke yesterday that WR Breshad Perriman had inked his rookie deal, and he’ll be heading into the 2015 season as the heir apparent to the departed Torrey Smith.
Perriman logged 50 catches for 1,044 yards and nine scores last year.

The Rams’ first-round pick Todd Gurley is still trying to get back to the field after suffering a torn ACL last season with Georgia. He’ll participate in off-season activities, but will be limited as he gets back to 100 percent.
So far, the coaching staff has reported being quite impressed with Gurley’s preparation, reporting that he’s been doing well in meetings and rehab.
Now on to the Bears’ RB Matt Forte, who has seen a heavy workload over the last several seasons with the club.
This off-season reports are swirling that Forte may end up seeing less volume in 2015 as the team works to keep him rested and fresh as the season wears on.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see Forte split some of the reps with the other running backs on the roster, as that’s the MO for Chicago offensive coordinator Adam Gase.
Forte logged 266 carries last season, totaling 1,038 yards. He was also a threat through the air on 102 grabs for 808 yards and four touchdowns.
Former Colt Ahmad Bradshaw has been in a bit of legal trouble recently, stemming from an early-February traffic stop during which he was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession.
Bradshaw pleaded no contest to the charges yesterday; no word yet on what type of a punishment he’ll see from the league.
