NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Off-Season Schedule and More
May 16, 2015
We’ve reached yet another off-season NFL weekend, and even though Week 1 is still pretty far away, we’ve got plenty to talk about this morning in our daily wrap-up. Let’s check out some of the headlines.
It’ll be interesting to see what dynamic Giants WR Odell Beckham does during his second year in the league. He’s coming off a great rookie campaign, during which he snagged 91 balls for 1,305 yards and 12 scores--doing all of that with four games less than a full season.
Only time will tell what Beckham’s stats will look like, but a lot of his success will hinge on his supporting cast. If QB Eli Manning can put together a steady campaign the Giants could very well do some damage in a realigned NFC East. It’ll be one of the more interesting divisional races in football.

The Lions drafted a pair of offensive linemen in this year’s proceedings, and that’s got at least one member of the team very happy: QB Matthew Stafford.
With the additions of Manny Ramirez and Laken Tomlinson, the team figures to take a step forward in the sacks allowed category. Stafford went down 45 times in 2014, which was near the bottom third of the league. It was also the highest number Stafford had taken in his NFL career.
Some strong offensive line play could certainly do wonders for Stafford’s numbers and the offense as a whole, so it’ll be interesting to see how the new unit gels together.
The Ravens’ Terrence Brooks has had some health issues this past year to say the least. He’s coming off a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee late last season and has not ruled out a return to the field this year.
Brooks will start off the 2015 campaign on the PUP list, but believes he’s made some good progress in his rehabilitation and could very well see the field this season.
