NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Off-Season Schedule and More
June 2, 2015
As this new workweek chugs along, we’ve got plenty of developing NFL news to keep us occupied. While we’re waiting on the weekend, let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there. Here’s the latest.
Giants fans have an injury situation to monitor in the coming weeks. WR Odell Beckham had to sit out practice yesterday due to a sore hamstring (reportedly the “other” hamstring; not the one he’s had issues with).
The good news is that the team is calling Beckham’s absence from practice “cautionary,” which seems to indicate that he’s not doing too badly.
The Giants want to handle their WR star with kid gloves these days. He’s coming off a stellar rookie season with 91 grabs for 1,305 yards and 12 scores.

One storyline that will be interesting to follow down in Miami this year is new TE Jordan Cameron’s transition to the team. So far, everything’s been going well, and Cameron is catching on quickly due to the fact that the Dolphins run a similar offense to the Browns.
Cameron is still trying to get back to his big totals of 2013, when he put up 80 catches for 917 yards and seven touchdowns. He had a concussion issue last year which kept his season limited to 10 games.
In other Dolphins news, kicker Caleb Sturgis sat out of OTAs yesterday. He’s reportedly dealing with a quadriceps injury on his plant leg.
No word yet on the severity of his injury, but Sturgis will want to get healthy ASAP and start proving his value to the team. He posted a tepid 29-of-37 on field goals last year, logging 9-of-16 from 40-plus yards out.
Back to the Giants for a moment: team TE Larry Donnell was also sitting out of the team’s practice session yesterday. He’s currently got a walking boot on his left foot due to Achilles tendinitis.
This injury is something of a surprise, as there had been no reports that he was hurt previously.
Donnell logged 63 grabs for 623 yards and six scores in 2014.
