NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Off-Season Schedule and More
June 12, 2015
We’re cruising into another NFL off-season weekend for 2015, and there’s plenty of news out there to accompany us this morning. That said, let’s take our daily glance around the league and see who’s trending in the headlines.
Let’s jump right into a few injury issues at this week’s OTA sessions.
The Jaguars held out a pair of players--TE Julius Thomas and DB Davon House--from yesterday’s practice, citing minor injuries.
Thomas has a hurt leg, and House is dealing with an abdomen issue. Both absences were said to be precautionary.

Over in New York, the Jets held new WR Brandon Marshall out of team drills yesterday, thanks to a toe injury.
Marshall was able to ride an exercise bike during yesterday’s session; his toe is simply stubbed so he should be fine very soon.
In more favorable injury news, Cowboys QB Tony Romo has been full-go throughout OTAs, which is a stellar development for Dallas.
Romo says his back continues to get stronger every week, and that his injury is no longer bothering him.
The veteran Cowboys QB has had back surgery in each of the last two years but for the most part has soldiered through his issues quite well.
The Colts are now saying that LB Robert Mathis most likely won’t be ready for training camp, despite recent reports to the contrary.
Mathis is coming off a torn Achilles and would like to get back to the field as soon as possible. Coming from the team’s viewpoint, however, they’ll be wanting to err on the side of caution when it comes to putting him back in harm’s way.
