NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Off-Season Schedule and More
June 14, 2015
We’re almost all the way through this NFL off-season weekend, and as we cruise through there’s plenty to take note of out there in the news. Let’s take our daily look at the headlines and see who’s on everyone’s minds right now.
Good news for Vikings DT Tom Johnson. He was acquitted late last week of all counts that came from an incident at a restaurant back in October
Johnson was arrested and charged with three misdemeanor counts. He just inked a fresh three-year deal with the Vikings in March. The contract is worth $7 million total.

The Browns Tashaun Gipson signed his tender and will be attending this week’s minicamp.
Gipson agreed to terms on Friday, after missing out on the team’s voluntary sessions due to the dispute.
He’s coming off six picks in his 11 games last season, leading the team.
After the Patriots released TE Tim Wright, it didn’t take him long to find a new--or make that an old--home. He’s back with Tampa Bay.
Wright played a full season for the Bucs in 2013, catching 54 balls for 571 yards and five scores. He didn’t get nearly as many targets in New England last year, but he did post six touchdowns.
It’ll be interesting to see what becomes of Cowboys WR Dez Bryant’s contract dispute. The latest news has him considering not showing up to the team’s season opener unless he gets a long-term deal by the 15th of next month.
Bryant was placed under the franchise tag, so he’s got until mid-July to get a long-term deal done with the team. If he does end up playing for franchise money this season, he’ll get more than $12 million.
Bryant’s coming off a big year with 88 grabs for 1,350 yards and a whopping 16 scores.
