NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Schedule and More
July 30, 2015
We’ve seen some interesting developments in the NFL over the past couple of days, so with that in mind let’s check out the headlines and see which players are making waves out there right now.
The Bears’ Kevin White, who is a rookie wide receiver, was placed on the PUP list yesterday. He’s dealing with a shin injury right now.
White was picked seventh overall in this past draft, and he’s got some ground to cover before he can get back on the field. It had been speculated that White would likely be fitting in nicely in the Bears’ No. 4 receiver slot, so we’ll see if he gets in there once he’s healthy.

Moving on over to the AFC East, the Jets put a couple of guys on the PUP list yesterday. Guard Willie Colon and running back Stevan Ridley both earned that designation.
Both players are dealing with knee injuries right now, and have the camp/preseason period to get healthy before they have to miss any significant regular-season action.
The Redskins and OLB Ryan Kerrigan agreed to a five-year extension yesterday. The contract is worth a reported $57.5 million.
Kerrigan is working his way back from a knee injury right now, but has posted an average of 62 tackles per year over the last four. He managed 13.5 sacks in 2014.
Panthers WR Stephen Hill is in a bit of trouble these days. He was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to wear a seatbelt during a traffic stop on Tuesday.
Hill played for the Jets for two years before sitting all year for Carolina in 2014.
Seahawks fans will want to watch S Kam Chancellor very closely over the next few weeks. He’s reportedly considering a camp holdout due to contract dissatisfaction.
Chancellor makes $7 million per year, which is the seventh-highest at his position in the league. He managed 78 tackles with a pick and a forced fumble last year.
