The Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks play a Friday night preseason game at CenturyLink Field.
The Denver Broncos have nothing on their mind other than another trip to the Super Bowl. Offensively, the Broncos will continue to go as far as Peyton Manning does, and you can expect only one or two drives out of the old guy. We’re going to see a lot of backup QB Brock Osweiler and Zac Dysert. The most exciting part of Denver’s offense preseason wise will be the running back depth of Montee Ball, CJ Anderson and Ronnie Hillman, which makes up one of the deeper backfields in the NFL. Defensively, the Broncos return most of the guys who helped them rank third in the league in total yards allowed last season. I’m most interested in seeing the young defenders such as Shane Ray and Bradley Roby, two guys who have promising futures in this league.

The Seattle Seahawks are also a team that’s thinking Super Bowl or bust this season. Seeing Russell Wilson and Jimmy Graham on the field together will be a treat, and rookie Tyler Lockett will have a chance to snag some playing time with a thin wide receiving corps. The Seahawks also have to find their backup quarterback between a battle of Tarvaris Jackson and R.J. Archer, however, Jackson has to be the head and shoulders favorite given the experience. Defensively, the only real concern for the Seahawks is the holdout of safety Kam Chancellor. Other than that, it’s widely known that Seattle has the best defense in the league. As for young guys to watch, Kevin Pierre-Louis, Frank Clark and DeShawn Shead are three players who have made seme early noise during camp.
The Broncos are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games on fieldturf. The Seahawks are 37-18-2 ATS in their last 57 home games and 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall.
This is too much chalk for me to eat in a meaningless preseason game, especially when the Broncos have solid QB depth with Osweiler getting a lot of second-team reps. Osweiler is considered by many to be the future face of the Broncos. I'll take my chances with the free points.
