The St. Louis Rams and Tennessee Titans play a Sunday preseason game at LP Field.
The St. Louis Rams are coming off a 18-3 preseason loss to the Oakland Raiders. Case Keenum threw for 83 yards on 17 pass attempts and Nick Foles completed three of five passes for 59 yards. It remains a quarterback battle between those two guys and Sean Mannion could see less playing time in this matchup. The Rams ground game averaged a solid 4.1 yards per carry, but they got little to nothing out of the quarterback position, averaging just five yards per pass and no touchdowns. Malcolm Brown led the Rams with 18 rushing yards on two carries and Chris Givens has 36 receiving yards on four receptions. Defensively, Bryce Hager led St. Louis with seven tackles, Marshall McFadden had a tackle for loss and Trumaine Johnson had two pass deflections.

The Tennessee Titans are coming off a 31-24 preseason loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Zach Mettenberger threw for 129 yards, a touchdown and an interception while rookie Marcus Mariota completed seven of eight passes and an interception. With some playing time now under his belt, Mariota should see some playing time in this matchup. Rookie David Cobb led Tennessee with 53 rushing yards on 11 carries and Chase Coffman had 58 receiving yards on four receptions. Defensively, Jemea Thomas led the Titans with seven tackles, Yawin Smallwood had a pass deflection and Karl Klug had the team’s lone sack. The Titans had five tackles for loss and allowed just seven second half points.
The Titans are 6-18-2 ATS in their last 26 home games and 15-33-4 ATS in their last 52 games overall. The Rams are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
In a pick em game, I'm siding with the home team that has a bunch of young players eager to prove themselves. I expect Mariota to take on a larger workload and put up a touchdown or two.
