The Cowboys and Giants highlight a busy opening Sunday in the NFL as the two bitter rivals meet up at Jerry's World on Sunday Night Football.
The New York Giants head into Dallas on Sunday night looking to spoil the party at Jerry's World and to leave with a 1-0 record against their arch rivals. Eli Manning returns to pivot a respectable offense that will look to continue its ascent at the end of last season and a large part of that will be sophomore sensation Odell Beckham who compile more highlight reel catches in a shortened season than most do in a hall of fame career. The Giants will also lean on the tandem of Rashad Jennings and Shane Vereen on the ground and while it doesn't look the most appealing on paper they are two capable backs that can make a difference and if they can get going in the early stages here they should be able to open the field and let Beckham and Rueben Randle go to work.
The Cowboys are coming off a very impressive season that was cut short thanks to the infamous Dez Bryant non catch call in the playoffs. Dallas returns a lot of their core from last year but they are without the NFL leading rusher in Demarco Murray who left for Philly and will feature a running back committee featuring Lance Dunbar, Joseph Randle, and Darren McFadden. Defensively, the Cowboys should stay competitive but have some work to do in the secondary and in a matchup like this is where they'll need to step up big or else run the risk of losing games they should be winning. Either way you look at it here I think the Cowboys have enough to scrape through but I don't think by much and personally this is one I will be looking at props if anything and will be avoiding the spread.
