The Niners look for a second impressive victory in as many weeks as they travel from California to Pennsylvania to take on the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
The San Francisco 49ers were given no love in their season opening match up with the Vikings last Monday as the one time NFC powers were three points dogs to the Minnesota Vikings at home last week and while they had some bumps along the way they certainly made a statement they aren't going away quite yet. The Niners rode Carlos Hyde to victory as the former Ohio State Buckeyes back asserted himself as the team's new bell cow and his effort in this one will go a long way in determining how much success they can have against a good Steelers team looking for their first win of the season. Pittsburgh has some gaps on defense and will be without Le'Veon Bell again this week but Big Ben is more then capable of leading his team to victory and on home field the Niners know it.
Pittsburgh is considered by many to be a Super Bowl contender when everyone is on the field and they showed flashes of it against the Patriots last week and now that they're returning home the odds makers have them as a touchdown favourite against San Fran. The Steelers were able to run the ball on New England last week with DeAngelo Williams and they will lean that way again this week which will allow the Steelers to look down field and play with Antonio Brown who had a monster game in his season debut last week. This is a tough spot for San Fran as they're playing on a short week, in their road opener, across the country, at 1PM against a team desperately needing a victory. Good luck.
