NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 3 Schedule and More
September 21, 2015
Most of the Week 2 NFL games have come and gone, but we’ve got one more matchup to look forward to. In the meantime, let’s visit with a few of the notable topics out there in the league.
Seahawks-Packers Wrap-Up: The Packers were able to overcome the Seahawks last night on “Sunday Night Football,” taking it 27-17 at the end of a hard-fought game. Aaron Rodgers would toss for 249 yards and two touchdowns while James Starks would rush 20 times for 95 yards.
The win may come at a hefty price for the Pack, as lead back Eddie Lacy went down early in the first quarter with an ankle injury.

Everyone was expecting the Dallas-Philly game to be a high-flying shootout, however it was anything but. This matchup ended up being a pretty sloppy affair, rife with penalties and sketchy offensive play.
The Cowboys won 20-10 but were dealt a critical blow when QB Tony Romo sustained a broken left collarbone. He’ll get an evaluation today, but it’s worth noting that he also broke his left collarbone in 2010 and missed the rest of the season after Week 7.
Jason Witten was also banged up in this one, spraining both ankles and one of his knees. He was able to play through it, but we’ll see how he’s feeling this week.
The Panthers have proven to be something of a resurgence for WR Ted Ginn, as he’s been very active in their offense so far.
Yesterday, he logged nine targets and would catch four for 41 yards and a score. That makes 16 targets for Ginn so far this year, and he leads the team on 95 receiving yards.
The Jaguars posted a surprising win yesterday against intrastate rival Miami. QB Blake Bortles chucked a pair of touchdown passes in the 23-20 victory, going 18-of-33 for 273 yards.
Bortles got some help from the ground game as well, namely T.J. Yeldon, who carried 25 times for 70 yards.
Jacksonville will get a stout test this week as they take on the Patriots in Foxboro.
