The Washington Redskins showed signs of life last weekend at home as they upended the St. Louis Rams with ease and can now move to 2-1 with an inspired effort on the road against the New York Giants. The Skins find themselves in a bit of a predicament at the moment, which should come as no surprise considering it's the Redskins but rookie running back Matt Jones has looked very impressive and is the front runner to see most of the carries against a weak rush defense of the Giants. If Jones can get rolling and force the Giants to adjust their game plan defensively it should open things up for Kirk Cousins to look down field to Pierre Garcon and Desean Jackson. However, as we saw in week one, the Skins can also look like a doormat and if they go into New York with the mentality they are going to walk over the Giants thanks to their win last week over the Rams they could be in deep trouble.
The Giants are coming off a tough loss at home to the Atlanta Falcons, a game in which they probably should have won based on the flow of things but now they find themselves in a tough spot here against a division rival on a short week. Eli Manning is one of the most polarizing players in the game as he always seems to be in the center of things for better or for worse and if the G-Men are to get in the win column they'll need him to have a strong game. Odell Beckham continues to be a force as he has well eclipsed the 100 catch mark for his short career, the fastest in league history by a country mile, and you can bet he will be the focus of the offense once again here for New York. However, I think the difference maker in this one will be Reuben Randle who was said to be given more looks this week and if he can show up I think New York can get the win. Either way I think we see a tight contest and as such I like the under in this one as Washington will want to run the ball and Eli and the Giants will look to manage the clock.
