NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 5 Schedule and More
October 8, 2015
The NFL’s Week 5 gets going tonight when the Colts face off against the Texans. Before we get settled in for that one, let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there right now.
The Packers’ Davante Adams was not able to practice yesterday. He’s still fighting that ankle injury.
Adams didn’t play in Week 4, and the team seems to be nursing him along toward full health. Fans will want to keep an eye on him today and tomorrow.
Good news for the Colts in tonight’s game. Dwayne Allen has been deemed probable and should play.
Allen has missed the last two straight games with a sprained ankle. He’ll suit up alongside Coby Fleener as the team’s two tight ends.
In other TE news, the Buccaneers’ Austin Seferian-Jenkins was out of practice again yesterday. We probably won’t see him on the field for another week or two; he’s still getting over a shoulder strain.
Back to the Colts for a moment: let’s check on QB Andrew Luck. He’s officially questionable thanks to that shoulder injury.
The general consensus seems to be that Luck will play, but we won’t know anything for sure until near game time. (UPDATE: Luck will not play tonight.)
Let’s check in on a couple of Bills players. LeSean McCoy was out of practice yesterday, as was WR Sammy Watkins.
McCoy is week-to-week with a hamstring issue, but probably won’t play for another couple of weeks. As for Watkins, he’s more day-to-day with his hamstring injury but may not end up playing this weekend.
We’ll probably see a lot more Arian Foster in tonight’s game. He’s expected to have an expanded role after debuting in Week 4 after his groin injury.
Foster needs to be healthy and on point for the Texans to do any damage, so we’ll see if the team can get him going this evening.
