The Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans square off Thursday night at NRG Stadium.
The Indianapolis Colts look for a big road win to get a game above a .500 record. Matt Hasselbeck is completing 63.8 percent of his passes for 282 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions. Andrew Luck is still questionable with a shoulder injury. T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief have combined for 569 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Coby Fleener has 14 receptions. The Indianapolis Colts ground game is averaging 87.5 yards per contest, and Frank Gore leads the way with 227 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Indy is allowing 23.3 points and 387.5 yards per game. D'Qwell Jackson leads the Colts with 47 tackles, Dwight Lowery has two interceptions and Darius Butler has two forced fumbles. Jalil Brown, Jerrell Freeman and Dwayne Allen are questionable.
The Houston Texans need a win here after a rough 1-3 start to the season. Ryan Mallett is completing 51.8 percent of his passes for 720 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. Mallett has thrown a pick in three straight games. DeAndre Hopkins and Cecil Shorts III have combined for 645 receiving yards and four touchdowns while Nate Washington has 13 receptions. The Houston Texans ground game is averaging 99.8 yards per contest, and Alfred Blue leads the way with 204 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Houston is allowing 27 points and 344 yards per game. Brian Cushing leads the Texans with 32 tackles, J.J. Watt has four sacks and Jadeveon Clowney has two tackles for loss. Cecil Shorts, Nate Washington and Akeem Dent are questionable.
The Colts are 11-1-1 ATS in their last 13 Thursday games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games. The Texans are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. AFC South and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Colts are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
The Colts expect Andrew Luck to play. Assuming that's the case, I'll gladly take the Colts over the Texans in a pick em. The Texans simply can't catch a break and have major questions at the quarterback position. If Luck plays, the Colts win this game.
