The Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens play a preseason game Saturday night at M&T Bank Stadium.
The Detroit Lions drop to 1-1 in preseason play after a 30-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. In the losing effort, Matthew Stafford led the way with 113 passing yards on eight completions. Stafford is now 12-17 in the first two preseason games. Golden Tate and Marvin Jones combined for 106 receiving yards on seven receptions while Orson Charles had four receptions. The Detroit Lions ground game averaged 2.7 yards per carry and Dwayne Washington led the charge with 22 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Tahir Whitehead led the Lions with five tackles, Tavon Wilson had one tackle for loss and A'Shawn Robinson had one pass deflection.
The Baltimore Ravens improved to 2-0 in preseason play after a 19-18 win over the Indianapolis Colts. In the victory, Josh Johnson led the way with 72 passing yards and one touchdown. Joe Flacco should see a lot of reps in this contest after sitting out game two. Jeremy Butler and Chris Moore combined for 55 receiving yards and one touchdown while Terrance West had two receptions. The Baltimore Ravens ground game averaged four yards per carry and Johnson led the charge with 40 yards on five carries. Defensively, Will Davis led the Ravens with six tackles, Matt Judon had one sack and Patrick Onwuasor had one pass deflection.
The Lions are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games on fieldturf and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Ravens are 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games on fieldturf and 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 home games.
The Lions are coming off a blowout loss and it's hard to trust Stafford when he's getting the bulk of the reps. Flacco is well rested and the Ravens have looked regular season ready at times in the first two games. Give me the home team and low number.
