The Chicago Bears look to for their first won of the preseason at home on Saturday as they welcome the Kansas City Chiefs to town.
The Chiefs look to shake off a 21-20 loss on the road against the Los Angeles Rams last week as they take on a winless Bears side that will be out to prove they can contend in the NFC North this season with a strong finish to the NFL preseason. The Chiefs are considered among a handful of AFC teams in the running to represent the conference in the Super Bowl as they have a very solid team and strength at some pivotal skill positions but they also have some injury woes and may not be as advertised once the season starts. They get Jamaal Charles back but his injury history is a cause for concern and without a ton of weapons through the air for Alex Smith I think they will rely heavily on the run game as the aim to take over top spot in the AFC West this season.
The Bears meanwhile are hoping to back on track and compete for a playoff spot this season but they will be in tough as both the Packers and Vikings are among the top teams in the NFC this season and the Lions are going to be able to put some points on the board in what is a very interesting dynamic in the NFC North. Chicago will be strong through the air though as they get Kevin White back this season after he missed his entire rookie season and alongside Alshon Jeffery who is among the best in the game it is clear that Jay Cutler has no shortage of weapons. Add in Jeremy Langford who is hoping to be the replacement for the departed Matt Forte and this Bears side could be sneaky competitive as they added some big time pieces on the defensive side of the ball via free agency.
The Chiefs are 5-1 ATS in their last six games, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 on grass, and and 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games while the Bears are 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five overall. The Chiefs were close to a breakthrough last week and this time I think they get it done despite playing on the road against the Bears as they are a cut above when it comes to depth and total talent.
