No love will be lost as the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions renew their rivalry for the 76th consecutive season in week 3 NFL action.
The Detroit Lions blew a 15-3 fourth quarter lead, ultimately dropping a 16-15 decision to the Tennessee Titans to drop to 1-1 on the year. Matthew Stanford completed 22 of 40 pass attempts for260 yards and a touchdown however he countered that score with an interception. The workload out of the Detroit backfield was spread out pretty evenly with Ameer Abdullah leading the way with 38 yards on 6 carries while Marvin Jones continues to make an impact for his new squad, hauling in 8 passes for 118 yards and veteran Anquan Boldin caught 4 passes for 48 yards and a touchdown. The defense for the Lions were able to get after the Titans, forcing a fumble and an interception while recording 2 sacks on the day.

The Green Bay Packers dropped to 1-1 with a 17-14 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football in the debut of the Vikings new stadium. Aaron Rodgers had a 2nd consecutive quiet game by his standards, completing 20 of his 36 passes for 213 yards and a touchdown. However Rodgers touchdown was negated by an interception of his own. Eddie Lacy led Green Bay's backfield with 50 yards on 12 carries while Jordy Nelson led the receiving core with 5 grabs for 73 yards and a touchdown. The Packers defense was able to force a fumble and register 3 sacks on the Minnesota offense, and even force Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson out of the game due to injury. However it still wasn't enough as the Vikings grabbed a 3rd quarter 17-7 lead that they wouldn't relinquish the rest of the way.
Detroit is 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall while the over is 7-3 in their last 10 vs. the NFC. Green Bay is 1-4 in their last five home games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games in September while the under is 12-5 in their last 17 overall. The favorite has covered the spread in 7 of the last 8 meetings between these two teams.
Green Bay will be happy to return home for their home opener, but I can't lay this many points against a Detroit team that will be playing angry considering that they blew a 4th quarter lead last week. Plus it's a division game between two teams that hate each other.
Give me Detroit and the points.
