The Line: New York Jets +3.5 -- Over/Under: 40.5 See the Latest Odds

Over at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Sunday, October 2, the Seattle Seahawks will visit the New York Jets in Week 4 NFL action.

The Jets come into this game at 1-2 on the year, following an abysmal performance in Kansas City last Sunday. New York coughed up a whopping eight turnovers in that game, allowing the Chiefs to score off a pair of those in the 24-3 trouncing. Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick accounted for a half-dozen of those turnovers himself, throwing six interceptions in a limp performance that yielded a 20-of-44 line for 188 yards. RB Matt Forte couldn’t get much going on the ground, either, and would come up with 65 yards on 15 carries.

So far for New York, Fitzpatrick has a 63-of-113 line for 751 yards, three touchdowns and seven interceptions. Forte leads the Jets in rushing with 67 attempts for 261 yards and three scores. Eric Decker is the high man in receiving with his nine receptions on 21 targets for 194 yards and two scores.

Over on the Seahawks’ side, they’ll enter the Week 4 game with a 2-1 record, thanks to a big 37-18 win over the 49ers in Week 3. Seattle was winning 30-3 heading into the fourth quarter, and the outcome was never really in doubt. Seahawks QB Russell Wilson put up a 15-of-23 line for 243 yards and one touchdown, while RB Christine Michael came up with 20 carries for 106 yards and a pair of scores. Doug Baldwin was the main man in receiving for Seattle in Week 3, with eight receptions for 164 yards and a TD.

On the year, that gives Wilson a 64-of-101 line with 755 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Michael leads the way in the Seattle rushing attack with 232 yards and two scores on 45 carries. Baldwin has caught 20 of his 27 targets for a total of 276 yards and two touchdowns.

The Seahawks are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall, and 0-5 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up win. Seattle is also 19-40-2 in their last 61 games in October, and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games after allowing less than 150 yards passing in their previous game.

As for the Jets, they’re 5-0-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record, and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games on fieldturf. New York is also 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games in October, and 1-4 ATS in their last five games in Week 4.

Last week’s loss revealed a lot of weaknesses the Jets have, and Seattle will get right to work exploiting them. I see this as a low-scoring, frustrating game for fans of New York, and a Seahawks victory on top of that.
