The Seattle Seahawks travel to the Meadowlands to take on the New York Jets in week 4 NFL action.
The Seattle Seahawks improved to 2-1 with a 37-18 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Russell Wilson completed 15 of his 23 pass attempts for 243 yards and a touchdown before suffering a knee injury, thus making way for Trevone Boykin to make his NFL regular season debut where he completed 7 of 9 for 65 yards and a touchdown that was negated by an interception. The main concern Seahawks fans have for this week is if Russell Wilson will be ready to go in week 4 or if Boykin will be making his first NFL start. Christine Michael had a stellar game out of the Seattle backfield, leading the way with 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 20 carries. The Seahawks aerial attack was on display in week 4, with Doug Baldwin hauling in 8 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown while Jimmy Graham tried to follow suit, logging 100 yards on 6 catches with a touchdown of his own.The Seahawks defense suffocated the 49ers, holding San Fran to only 254 yard of total offense while registering a forced fumble and an interception in the victory.

The New York Jets fell to 1-2, dropping a 24-3 decision to the Kansas City Chiefs. Ryan Fitzpatrick might've had the worst second half in any game of his career, throwing 5 interceptions on 5 New York drives after halftime. On the day, Fitzpatrick completed 20 of his 44 pass attempts for 188 yards and a total of six picks. Matt Forte led the way for the Jets on the ground with 65 yards on 15 carries, while backup Bilal Powell racked up 30 yards on 4 carries, but also led the Jets in receiving with 6 receptions for 41 yards. Jets mainstay Eric Decker had a relatively slow day, with a single reception for 31 yards while Brandon Marshall caught 3 passes of his own for 27 yards. It's not often you allow under 300 yards of total offense and under 100 yards on the ground and still end up on the losing end, but that's exactly what happened to New York in week 3. But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that throwing 6 picks in a game won't help you pick up many wins. Seattle is 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall and 0-5 ATS in their last five games following a straight up win while the under is 4-1 in their last five road games. New York is 1-4 ATS in their last five week 4 matchups and 5-0-1 ATS in their last six games vs. a team with a winning record while the over is 5-2 in their last seven home games. The home team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.
I'm not sure how anybody could think about backing the Jets in this one. The Chiefs may have used their defense as a calling card in the past but it is still an average defense and Fitzpatrick managed to get picked off 6 times by them! With no news as of yet on Russell Wilson's status, I'll take the under as I'm not sure how the Jets will be able to score on the Seahawks and I'm not overly trustworthy of Trevone Boykin if he gets the nod.
