The Saskatchewan Roughriders and Ottawa Redblacks play Friday night at TD Place Stadium on TSN.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have a chance for their third straight victory, which would add some positives to their brutal 2016 season. Darian Durant is completing 68.4 percent of his passes for 2,976 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Durant has two touchdown passes in his last three games. Naaman Roosevelt and Rob Bagg have combined for more than 1,600 receiving yards and five touchdowns while Ricky Collins has 31 receptions. The Saskatchewan Roughriders ground game is averaging 63.4 yards per contest, and Curtis Steele leads the way with 265 yards on 46 carries. Defensively, Saskatchewan is allowing 31.2 points and 409.2 yards per game. Greg Jones leads the Saskatchewan Roughriders with 61 tackles, Corvey Irvin has four sacks and Justin Cox has three interceptions.
The Ottawa Redblacks could use a big home victory after losing six of their last nine games. Trevor Harris is completing 74.7 percent of his passes for 3,181 yards, 15 touchdowns and three interceptions. Harris has four touchdown passes in his last three games. Chris Williams and Greg Ellingson have combined for more than 2,100 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns while Ernest Jackson has 62 receptions. The Ottawa Redblacks ground game is averaging 82.3 yards per contest, and Travon Van leads the way with 304 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Ottawa is allowing 27.3 points and 380.2 yards per game. Damaso Munoz leads the Ottawa Redblacks with 58 tackles, Zack Evans has six sacks and Mitchell White has two interceptions.
The Roughriders are 5-14-1 ATS in their last 20 road games and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The RedBlacks are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
The Ottawa Redblacks haven't been the most consistent team down the stretch and are running into a Saskatchewan club that's feeling good about itself with back-to-back victories and has had an extra week to prepare. Not only that, but the Saskatchewan Roughriders beat the Redblacks back in July and lost to them by three points in September of 2015. The Saskatchewan Roughriders have to feel they can win this game, so I'm taking the points here.
