We have an abbreviated Survivor article this week based on the number of tough matchups and the time of the week. Based on a very tough schedule and a number of pick em type of games we have a list of just the top three plays this weekend as Survivor season continues after a crazy week last week with the Pittsburgh Steelers ruining a lot of plans. Here are this week’s Top Plays:
Cincinnati Bengals vs Cleveland Browns
This seems to be a foregone conclusion at this point but fading the Browns seems to be a smart play despite the fact they have created headaches for some teams and even left a number of Survivor players gasping for air on a couple of occasions this season. Cincy can be a one dimensional team at times and are susceptible to losing games when AJ Green is held in check, but that is going to be tough to do this weekend as the Browns don’t really have much when it comes to their defensive secondary outside of the inconsistent but talented Joe Haden. There is the Hue Jackson element here as he is facing off against his former team and the Browns do have a nice run game, and while this one should stay close I think the Bengals do enough to get a win at home.
Kansas City Chiefs vs New Orleans Saints
This is a tough one to call but in a full slate of games that look like a coin flip in one of the toughest weeks in recent memory, this looks like a bit of a mismatch as the Chiefs return home to Arrowhead to take on the Saints. New Orleans has a ridiculous offense that can only be slowed down and not stopped but if there is any team defense that is going to come close to keeping them in check it is the Chiefs who are ball hawks in the secondary and can create pressure up top. The Saints might be able to keep this close for a while but against a quarterback in Alex Smith who makes very few mistakes I think the Chiefs can ground and pound and allow Smith to do what he does and rip apart this Saints defense.
New England Patriots at Pittsburgh Steelers
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. The Steelers went from a stone cold lock last week to a fade at home this week as they are without Ben Roethlisberger and will be in tough against a Patriots side who should have no issues moving the ball. Landry Jones hasn’t been able to make an impact behind center in his limited NFL action and that should create havoc from this exciting Patriots defense who should be able to keep Le’Veon Bell in check. Add in the fact that Tom Brady is only getting better as the games go by and with this being a statement type of game I think the Pats score early and often and cruise to victory.
